90s/2000s Inspired Two Piece Set!

I hope you’re all staying safe out there. The world around us has changed so much since the last time I posted on here and took these photos. These were a set my dad took of me when we visited Los Angeles just two weeks ago. Things have turned upside down and our normal everyday lives have changed like none of us have ever seen before. I hope you’ve all been practicing social distancing and staying home if you’re able to. Before all of this, I originally had planned on visiting my dad down in Arizona for two weeks but since everything with COVID-19 happening, I am still here waiting to return back to Portland. It’s been difficult to decide to return home because I was worried everything would be closing on my drive back home, including hotels. I didn’t want to get stranded so my stay here has been prolonged.

I’m sure at this point, you’ve read, heard and talked about the virus more than you could imagine. It’s been on all of our minds I’m sure. So I hope this blog post can provide just a couple minutes of normalcy and take your mind off of everything for just a bit.

When I first saw this set on the & Other Stories, it reminded me to much of the 90s/2000s. Baggy, flared pants with a more fitted tie back top. It reminded me so much of some of the pieces back then and I couldn’t wait to style it myself. This outfit was perfect for the early spring LA weather. Cool and breezy fabric but the long sleeves and pant still kept me warm enough in the shade. Plus styled with sandals or flip flops, this outfit is SO comfortable. I wanted to dress it up a bit and escalate the look so I paired it with my Staud Moon bag and Gucci sunglasses! But you could easily dress the look down more or up depending on the occasion.

The best part about two piece sets like this, they’re perfect for wearing at home too!

Quick Stay in Silver Lake

Last week, my dad and I spent the day in LA! He had somewhere in the area he had to go so I asked if we could hangout in LA for the day and because I had been wanting to check out this hotel in Silver Lake for awhile! I had seen some of my favorite bloggers stay here and it looked SO beautiful and it really lived up to my expectations. It was tucked away right in the heart of Silver Lake, walking distance to so many great shops and restaurants (that I wish we could have had more time to check out!) The hotel was like an oasis in the city. Gorgeous tile and plants everywhere and a roof top pool with a view of the Hollywood sign. This is not sponsored at all! Haha I truly loved our stay here!

And of course I asked my dad if he could snap a couple of photos for me! The weather was so nice while we were there that I finally got to wear sandals and sunglasses, it’s been awhile since I’ve gotten to do that in Portland! And I was so surprised how well the photos turned out! THANKS DAD LOVE YOU!!

NOTE! For this jumpsuit, I would say it runs pretty small. I got a size large because the medium was too tight of a fit for me! And beware on returns, they only do in store credit and returns back, the customer has to pay for!!

Also a reminder that warmer weather is on it’s way! My go to piece to wear under dresses are definitely bike shorts!

How I wear and Style My Blundstones!

Blundstone boots have been a huge staple and go to for me ever since I got my first pair a couple of years ago. Honestly, living in the PNW, they’re a must. OR anywhere you live where it rains or snows, they’re just a great boot to have on hand. I wanted to share a couple of ways that I have styled and worn them through out the past year or two. They pair well with dresses, jeans, pretty tops, literally anything you can think of!

Not pictured: the other countless times I have thrown them on with my favorite puffer jacket and jeans.

The best thing about Blundstone boots is that they’re practical, functional but still look good with so many outfits. They’re great for stomping around no matter what weather and I always pack them when I head to the coast. Honestly, I don’t know what other shoe I would want at the Oregon Coast!

As far as favorites go, there are two styles of Blundstones that I love the most. Starting with the heeled version. What I like about this style is that it has a more feminine feel to it so it goes perfect with dresses or pretty blouses but still has all of the functionality you need. The other style I love is are the classic 500s. These ones I love to throw on when I want to wear my puffer coats or my rain coat. They’re just a good classic boot and I know I can rely on them to get me through the rainy weather!

Let me know what outfit you like the best!

This post was sponsored by Blundstone but all opinions and ideas are my own!

Wearing Some of my Recent Vintage Finds!

Ok so a couple weeks ago, my mom and I went to my favorite thrift store. Like most places, it can be hit or miss and after looking around a bit…this jacket was the only thing I found. The line to check out was SUPER long and I was contemplating if the jacket was worth waiting in line for. But something told me if I would have left it behind, I would have regretted it. And I was right. I LOVE THIS COAT. I have been wearing it so much lately. I love the mix of styles it gives off. Reminds me of something a french girl in the 60s would wear, or one of the cast members of Friends in the 90s. It’s definitely one of my favorite finds to date.

It’s honestly been so nice getting back into vintage shopping and thrifting again. When I first started my blog, I would go ALL the time but as time went on and I enrolled in college, I had less time to pick through the racks. I’ve been getting more inspired again with vintage clothes and it’s the best feeling. It feels like I found myself again! It’s just nice finding pieces that feel true and authentic to me.
