Austin has been at the top of my list of places to visit for awhile now! A couple years ago, I went on a road trip with my parents to Texas (before I moved here) and we stopped in San Antonio and Austin. But when we stopped in Austin, we were only there for a couple of hours so I was ready to visit and spend more time. Not only was Austin at the top of my list, but I’ve always wanted to check out Austin Proper Hotel. Kelly Wearstler is one of my biggest inspirations for interior design so being able to stay at a place she decorated was a dream.

You can check out my Instagram highlight for more on the inside of the hotel (Goldies was SO beautiful) and more of where I went in Austin. It was really fun just walking around the city and exploring a few new places. I would have to say LoLo Wine was one of my favorite places I went. It was such a cute setting and the happy hour was great! Before I drove home, I stopped by Austin Flower Co. too so I could bring home some flowers. I ended up getting a big bundle of stuff for only $30 so I will definitely be making a stop there every time I visit. I am counting down the days until I can save up enough money to go visit again! Fingers crossed I can stay at Austin Proper Hotel again!

GUESS WHAT?! IT’S FINALLY COLD IN TEXAS! When I tell you I have been waiting for this moment to finally arrive! hahah We moved here right in the beginning of summer so we endured all of the hot, humid months right off of the bat. I’ve been dreaming of wearing a cozy blanket scarf and coat outfit for months! The not so great thing has been that I have been at home with a cold so I haven’t really been able to enjoy the cooler temperatures and outfits but I’m ready!

This coat has been one of my favorite pieces for fall and winter since I bought it last year (see here!). Green has been my favorite color since I was a kid. So when I saw it, I knew I had to have it! It’s such a good mix of tailored and oversized. Ideal for layering, especially with a good blanket scarf! I bought this scarf last year and didn’t get much wear out of it because I was living in Arizona. Being able to wear it for a bit the other day made me so happy! And I feel like it goes with the coat perfectly!

To really bring the cozy and comfy outfit together, I decided to go with sneakers. I love how effortless sneakers make a look. But of course, boots are a great way to dress up a coat and blanket scarf too!

I feel like a teddy bear when I wear this coat! I’ve honestly loved teddy coats for a few years now (see post here and here!) They’re so cozy and such a good neutral color so they end up pairing so well with so many pieces. Wearing a teddy coat with plaid pants feels so Parisian to me or a bit like Alexa Chung. It’s a great way to mix the feminine look of the coat with a more masculine tailored plaid trouser. This is one of my favorite kinds of fall outfit, mixing a bit of modern pieces with vintage too!

It seems like so many nostalgic brands are making a comeback! This coach bag was a gift to myself for my birthday two years ago and it’s been my favorite bag since I bought it! Unfortunately, they didn’t bring back this style again but I feel like the silhouette is so classic and timeless.

It’s FINALLY cooling down here in Fort Worth, so being able to wear outfits like this without sweating has been so exciting. I’ve been so used to the rain during this time of the year from living in Portland for 10 years, so these sunny, chilly fall days make me so happy.

I would say one of the most asked questions I’ve gotten lately is how to wear cowboy boots. Over the past few years, I’ve thrifted quite a few pairs so they’re a big part of my wardrobe now. So here is a fall outfit with cowboy boots! An oversized blazer, white tee or tank and then either trousers or a comfy pair of boxer style shorts. I feel like it’s a classic and modern way to style cowboy boots and great to style with pants or shorts depending on the weather. Here’s another way I wore these boots when it was a little warmer out.

If you’re looking for another fall outfit with cowboy boots idea, I styled a few more in this video here! They’ve become a go to for my with my outfits and it’s been fun styling them different ways.

I’m so excited that Texas is starting to cool down! The other day, I bought a clothing rack from Facebook Marketplace and started to bring out all of my fall pieces. It’s still in the 80s most days, but at night it starts to cool down and I can feel sweater weather approaching.

Have I mentioned that in May, I bought my first house?! It’s been really fun slowly updated it and making improvements. It’s a 101 year old house and needs a little bit of work so everyday of the week, there’s a new project. Recently, I made a few updates to the very blue bathroom we have and added this Quiet Town Home Curtain! Since the bathroom is already very colorful, I thought added more color would make sense. The pastel colors of the curtain just compliment the blue tile I think!

This is the first piece from Quiet Town Home I’ve owned and I was so impressed with the quality of this curtain. It’s hand sewn and made out of canvas so it’s super durable. It’s also called the “Marfa” curtain so I felt like it was the perfect fit for my Texas Home 🙂

As far as updates go in the bathroom, the main one we want to do is replace the flooring with honeycomb tile! We’re keeping the blue tile as is as well as the blue toilet. I replaced some of the lights and I just want to keep it very 1920s style like the house.

I also have a discount code for Quiet Town Home if you’re interested! Use code TONYA at checkout for a discount!
