Have I mentioned that in May, I bought my first house?! It’s been really fun slowly updated it and making improvements. It’s a 101 year old house and needs a little bit of work so everyday of the week, there’s a new project. Recently, I made a few updates to the very blue bathroom we have and added this Quiet Town Home Curtain! Since the bathroom is already very colorful, I thought added more color would make sense. The pastel colors of the curtain just compliment the blue tile I think!

This is the first piece from Quiet Town Home I’ve owned and I was so impressed with the quality of this curtain. It’s hand sewn and made out of canvas so it’s super durable. It’s also called the “Marfa” curtain so I felt like it was the perfect fit for my Texas Home 🙂

As far as updates go in the bathroom, the main one we want to do is replace the flooring with honeycomb tile! We’re keeping the blue tile as is as well as the blue toilet. I replaced some of the lights and I just want to keep it very 1920s style like the house.

I also have a discount code for Quiet Town Home if you’re interested! Use code TONYA at checkout for a discount!

One trend I can get behind this year are crochet tops! I’ve always been a bit of a tomboy but I love mixing feminine and masculine pieces together. A crochet top is such a good way to add a feminine touch with it’s delicate details! These trousers are super tailored and minimal, I decided to only button a few of the buttons of the top to also make it feel a little more casual and relaxed. Juxtaposition in an outfit here!

We also have to talk about these trousers! Coats, boots and TROUSERS are all pieces that are a necessity in my fall wardrobe. A couple of years ago, there was a pair of trousers I had from & Other Stories and I wore them sooo much! Unfortunately, that pair no longer fits me. So I got this recent pair (the ones I’m wearing in the photos above) and I love them! The quality is incredible, they feel durable and I hope will last awhile! But I was so excited to have a replacement fo the trousers I wore so much before!

Modern and Serene Marfa Airbnb + Mini Marfa Guide!

I feel so lucky to be living in Texas which means Marfa isn’t as far away anymore! I visited for the first time in March 2021 and was blown away but this little town. It’s just so unexpected and a hidden gem literally in the middle of nowhere. The last time I went, I was traveling with family so I don’t think we even spent 24 hours there so I was ready to visit again.

This time in Marfa, I booked this INCREDIBLE, modern, serene airbnb. I had a little bit of a gift card left and decided this would be the perfect place to use it up. The first night in town, I grabbed a drink at the local dive bar, Lost Horse Saloon, and then took a bath before settling into bed. After a 7 hour drive from Fort Worth, it was exactly what I needed! Even though it was relaxing being able to focus on work and spend some alone time, I definitely want to bring my boyfriend with me the next time I visit.

Here’s a link to this beautiful airbnb if you’re interested!

Trench Coat Outfits for Fall

fall outfit with a trench coat and sneakersIf I’m being honest, I was feeling very uninspired for awhile when it came to outfits and anything fashion related. Everything feels so trendy and just kind of meaningless for some reason. What I used to do when I was younger and first started my blog, was try on multiple outfits in my closet and just try to get inspired again by what I had. So, that’s what I did! I went “shopping” in my closet and remembered this really great trench coat I had and wanted to come up with a few ideas on how I could wear it once it cools down a little more. With this post, I hope to inspire you with these trench coat outfits for fall!BM9A0930fall outfit with a trench coat and sneakersOUTFIT ONE: Trench Coat: Sanna NY, Tank: Favorite Tank, Earrings: AGMES, Trousers: Thrifted, Sneakers: New Balance x Aime Leon Dore, Tote Bag: Los Angeles Apparel

LIFE LATELY!

It’s been awhile!! Life has been very busy with working on the house! I’ve been doing SO much painting and am just about done with painting the entire house. The bathrooms and a couple of closets are all that’s left. Pretty soon I’ll be sharing more of the house and I am beyond excited for that. It’s been a work in progress though and I think decorating it all is going to take awhile to accumulate things and figure out what exactly is needed and where.

It has been SO hot here in Texas! Which is another big reason I haven’t really shared many outfits, because I’ve been staying inside a lot. Since I’ve been working on the house, my main outfits have been comfy shorts and a big tee that I don’t mind gets paint on. But the other evening, we got out of the house for a bit to take some photos and check off one of my Fort Worth bucket list spots: the Kimbell Art Museum. Although we still have to visit the inside, the outside was enough for awhile to tie me over. It was INCREDIBLE! I’m so glad we decided to go towards the end of the day too. The light was pretty damn magical.

INVESTMENT PIECES

I’ve realized from moving, how many pieces of clothing I have and what I actually end up wearing and not. It’s made me decide to really get more investment pieces that I will rewear and that have versatility. That being said, this set from Vince. is such great quality and something that I could wear a variety of ways. The pants are so comfortable and I can think of the ways I could wear them into fall. And these sandals were a recent purchase. Since it is so hot in Texas, I feel investing in sandals is a good idea! A. Emery is a brand I recently discovered and their styles are so classic and cool. I ordered another pair after selling a few pieces on the Realreal and I feel like they’re going to become staple pieces for me!
