Two Piece Sets for Summer

It’s been a chaotic and busy last few weeks. May was filled with moving, buying a house (!!!), and then working on said house. I’m so excited to share more details on that soon but for now I wanted to post this set. Living in the desert for almost a year had its ups and downs. The place I was living in was so small and not my favorite but what I did love was living so close to so many great other places. Being able to drive a couple hours and be in Joshua Tree, Los Angeles, Phoenix, the Grad Canyon, etc was honestly pretty great.

This post is a little bit of an ode to the desert and just wanted to share a few matching sets for the upcoming summer days. Matching the scenery of where I live has been a big source of inspiration for me. The desert was an inspiration for these outfits and pairing them with cowboy boots is a nod to where I ended up buying my first home!

I have lots of posts coming soon! I’m so excited to finally get back into my routine again and share more. Especially the renovations of the new home 🙂 It’s good to be back!!

Three Beauty Products that are Worth the Hype

There’s nothing worse than spending money on a product, only to find that it doesn’t really work that well or the results are lower than your expectations. That’s why I decided to share a few products I recently used a full bottle of and feel that they’re worth the hype! This is one of my first “empties” review and felt like it would be helpful to share my experience and recommendations of these products!

So without further ado, here are three beauty products that are worth the hype!

  1. Osea Malibu Undaria Algae Body Oil: You might already be familiar with this product or maybe have at least seen it a few times online. This body oil really is the holy grail. My first bottle ended up lasting me over a year! I didn’t use it everyday, so just keep that in mind, but I feel like it ended up lasting awhile. It’s a little pricey but if you’re willing to spend a little more on a body oil, you will notice the difference in your skin. It makes my skin GLOW! Even the next day after applying, I can see how moisturized my skin looks. I LOVE THIS STUFF!
  2. Crown Affair Hair Oil: I’ve tried so many different hair oils and hair products in general and this is the one I always go to. Similar to the Osea Body Oil, this little bottle has lasted me over a year and I am still not all the way through with it! I use a small amount in my palm after I shower and run it through my hair from the ends to the top of my head. It’s one of those products where I notice the difference after using it. My hair is SO soft afterwards especially when I use their towel together with the oil. It also doubles as a heat protectant and I’ve noticed the difference in my frizz as well.
  3. Benefit 24 Hour Brow Gel: I have furry brows and I love it! I’ve tried quite a few different “brow gels”, soaps, etc. trying to tame them and make them stay in place. Before, I was using just Dial soap for awhile until I tried this product. First, I use an eyebrow brush (I use an ELF brand one I buy at target). Then I brush my brows upward and then I use the Benefit brow gel (i use the clear one). To make them stay in place, I kinda set the product in with my finger. They stay practically all day as long as I don’t hit my eyebrows much. Expect to see crust the next morning on your brows if you forget to wash it off at night. It’s basically a glue! lol

And that’s it! I absolutely love these products and highly recommend them all. This isn’t paid or sponsored, I just wanted to share my love for these! A few honorable mentions and products I’ve been using lately and love too are the Salty Face Freckle Paint and Ilia’s Multi Stick. Both of these are now a part of my makeup routine and had been great additions!

I would love to know any products you recommend!

I tried something new with these photos (well my boyfriend technically took them of me) but I decided to cover the lens of my camera with a pair of nude tights. I had seen this trick on a tiktok video and the results were reminiscent of a dreamy film photo. The photos turned out really grainy and look almost like a dream. The tights might have been a little too much of a filter, so I am going to have to try some other pairs but pushing my creativity and trying something new is always a good idea.

I’ve noticed how much my style and creativity has changed and morphed over the years. With the Instagram algorithm being so selective and honestly kind of hindering new ideas and pushing creativity, sharing these images on my blog remind me of why I started it all in the first place. It’s really rewarding having a space and a site that’s all my own, even if there’s no chance of it “going viral” or the quick validation of likes. It’s a space where I can share my creativity and hopefully inspire others to do the same and that in itself is like a dream as well.

Switching gears: I’ve had so many questions about this airbnb that are in the photos so I am happy to finally share a link to it! The photos in the listing don’t do the space justice. It’s a unique, beautiful, time capsule of a home and definitely one of my favorite airbnb’s I’ve visited over the years.

I’ve been noticing there’s been a particular clothing style I keep gravitating towards and it’s matching sets. Trends are something that I try not to invest too much into but this is one trend to try. Matching sets are the ideal pieces because they’re basically 3 outfits in one. You can wear the pieces together or individually which makes them one of the most versatile styles and I think that’s why I always find myself getting them. This knit set was another favorite of mind during the cooler months!

The fact that this set kinda looks like a set of pajamas makes me love them even more. I feel like it honestly makes them look more effortless and plus they’re SO COMFORTABLE. Comfort over everything and I guess if you happen to fall asleep while wearing them…it’s a bonus lol

Ok so have I convinced you to try out matching sets for spring? If so, I’ll link a couple of my favorite sets below!

  1. I love the color of this set. I think it’s so effortless and cool. This would be great with sneakers or dressed up with heels! Top here and bottoms here
  2. If you’re looking for something with color! This set is super funky!
  3. In case you want something a little more cozy, this set is beautiful. I love the color and it has a polo style top. (USE CODE “TMT10” for 10% off your first purchase- Ends May 7th)
  4. And if you’re searching for something more classic and minimal. The top would be beautiful paired with a tank and denim or the matching shorts! (USE CODE “TMT10” for 10% off your first purchase- Ends May 7th)

I’ve stayed at quite a few Airbnb’s over the years now, but this dreamy La Quinta Airbnb might top the cake. Being able to start every morning with coffee in the hot tub was pretty unforgettable. The colorful bougainvillea and palm trees were the perfect peaceful backdrop and I kept thinking how I wish all days could start like that.

This Airbnb might have a bit of a higher price point, but this would make for an unforgettable trip with a few friends.

Here’s a link to book!
