White on White for Summer

6L0A73986L0A74306L0A7410 White on white for summer…is always a must and I think will always be classic. There’s also just something so special about wearing white at the coast and breezy tops that get carried away with the wind. What are your go-to summer favorites? I know this summer for me I can’t get over cute clogs and basket bags! They pair well with denim, dresses, basically anything! And picking outfits is so much easier when you have favorite, repeat pieces in mind.

Edgy with a Feminine Twist

They really are the perfect piece to have to make an outfit look put together effortlessly and of course to look a bit like a badass. Unfortunately, my college student budget hinders me from investing in the perfect leather jacket so luckily there are jackets like these that are so close to the real thing! Have you guys checked out Azalea yet? If not you need to!! This jacket is Azalea (their in house brand) and it’s so good! I love all the different zipper details to really make it unique. These shoes are probably my favorite part about this outfit though! I like the feminine feel they add to the edgy jacket…edgy and feminine…always a great combo! Also, I plan on wearing these cropped jeans from Frame basically every single day!
What I’m Wearing: Jacket: Azalea, Tee: Reformation, Jeans: FRAME, Bag: Kozha Numbers, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell via Urban Outfitters, Sunglasses: Ray Bans via Urban Outfitters

Around the City in Theory

I was beyond excited to partner up with them to show off some of my favorite pieces from their new Summer 16 collection. Is anyone else obsessed with off the shoulder tops too? I can’t get enough of them but I LOVE how this one from Theory is one shoulder! It’s a nice twist on the off the shoulder trend. The top is a bit feminine but I wanted to tomboy it up a bit with some edgy platforms and a leather backpack.

A Fresh Start.

Some of you may have heard, as I mentioned on my Twitter and Instagram account, I had some issues with the company that was hosting my blog. I was unable to login and post for over two weeks and couldn’t get much of a response from anyone that “worked” there. I basically had to start from scratch and I ended up losing a lot of my previous posts and everything I had worked on over the past years. It was a long week for me but I did my best to make lemonade out of lemons. My blog isn’t perfect and it’s missing a lot of pieces and the groundwork that made it what it is today…but sometimes a fresh start is what we need. We need a blank slate to feel like we can move on, start over and get creative again. And honestly I think that’s what I really needed.
It’s so hard these days not to compare and get caught up in taking a blog, website, creative outlet so seriously. When I first started The Moptop it was purely out of fun, to get inspired and to hopefully provide inspiration for other’s as well. It was something I looked forward to and couldn’t wait to run to my computer, upload and share. But lately, it just wasn’t feeling like that. I found myself getting stressed and pissed off over such small, pity, and dumb things with blogging and the blogging world. So maybe this little messy situation was just what I needed to snap myself back and to remember again why I started this little blog.
With all that being said (and I wish I could elaborate more but I’ve never been good with words!) here is a fresh start. IT’S STILL ME JUST STARTING NEW! 🙂 And I can’t wait to JUST HAVE FUN AGAIN….WHAT’S UP BLOG WORLD!!!!
(Gosh I suck at these types of posts haha)

At Pistils Nursery

I had the pleasure of meeting and shooting with the insanely talented Elizabeth Wells when she was in Portland! We ended up going to my favorite place in Portland, Pistils Nursery. I am always inspired and in awe every time I go there. And since I had been living in Nevada for the past year, I was so happy to be back. The new solarium was SO COOOOL. I kinda want one in my backyard someday….
