Best Tops for Summer and Transitioning to Fall

This time of the year is always the hardest for me to get dressed. It’s starting to cool down a little at night but during the day it’s still so warm out! Wearing anything other than summer clothes seems unbearable right now. But we still have to keep fall on our minds because it’s creeping right behind us! SO with that being said, I’ve rounded up a couple of different styles of tees that are great for summer but also work perfectly into your fall outfits as well.

Here they are, tops that work for summer and into fall:
1. Ribbed Tops: Just like the one above, these tees are perfect for layering! Since they have a tighter fit, they’re great for tucking into shorts for warm days or when it cools down, tuck them into some jeans. They also go great under a blazer or coat for when it really starts to feel like fall.
2. Light Turtlenecks: Turtlenecks are one of my favorites for fall! But they also can work great for the end of the summer too, as long as they’re lightweight. Finding a lighter fabric that is breathable is what makes them great for both summer and going into fall.

3. Cropped Sweaters: This is another great idea for a top that can work great for summer and into fall. Cropped sweaters can be paired with shorts or over a slip dress for summer and then with denim and a coat for fall!

I hope these options helped a bit for thinking of what to wear this funny time of year! I love summer so much but I am looking forward to fall a bit too!

I’m still not quite ready to let go of summer. It’s been such a memorable one filled with one big fun road trip adventure and I am already trying to plan another. If you guys are trying to plan a winter vacation to somewhere warm, the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs was such a great oasis. Even though we didn’t stay the night, the swimming pool and atmosphere alone was incredible!
Little white dresses are a staple for my summer style. They’re so easy to just through on with some sandals and a cute purse, and your outfit is ready to go! Or if you have a date night planned, they’re perfect with a low heel or strappy sandals…whatever fits your style! Make sure to check this one out from Madewell especially since it’s on sale now! It’s a great classic style too that should be relevant for upcoming years and seasons.
Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend! Are you going to be watching the eclipse on Monday?!

Are you guys tired of seeing these bougainvillea yet? I hope not. There’s more 😉
Funny thing about this AMAZING spot…Dawn and I were driving around LA trying to get to our next shot location which I think was Venice Beach. So we we’re trying to figure out the right directions when I accidentally missed the exit to get onto the freeway. That’s when we both spotted this floral, old car oasis. It was seriously as though we were looking at a scene from a magazine. It was too perfect to pass up so I quickly pulled over so we could get some shots in front of it all. I swear it was some type of floral fate!
Wrap dresses are quickly filling up my closet. I love the shape and the feminine feel they have. They’re perfect for dressing up with a low heel or sandal or for dressing down with a comfy sneaker. I guess I will have to transition to wrap maxi dresses as we get closer to fall!

Can I just be transported to Venice Beach please? It was so beautiful, warm, and the sun had the prettiest glow. Everything about it was magical!
My friend/photographer Dawn and I made our way down the the lifeguards lookouts and I had been wanting to take photos at them. I didn’t know if it was allowed or not because of all of the cones surrounding them. So I cautiously walked up to it and saw a couple of big, buff, tan lifeguards inside. I’m actually pretty shy at times so seeing them made me nervous! haha not to mention they were cute! But they saw us and told us that we could take photos on there. I was still too nervous to go up there! I didn’t want to talk to the buff lifeguards and be so touristy taking photos! hahah So then Dawn told me she would buy me a margarita if I did, so she ended up convincing me haha.
I slowly walked up the ramp and the cutest one came out and started to pose with me and handed me his rescue can insisting that I pose with it too. He kept trying to give me ideas on poses and photos but I’m not trying to be mean…they were all terrible! haha
It doesn’t seem to crazy but I was SO embarrassed and couldn’t stop laughing about the whole situation. I guess you had to be there but every time I see these photos, it takes me back to that! hahah See below for more! haha

Alsoooo, have you guys heard of the label Staud before? I have been stalking them on instagram and drooling over their collections for quite awhile now. So of course I was super excited when I saw that they did a collaboration with Urban Outfitters. The pieces are to die for! I knew I had to get something! I ended up going with this set and it was the perfect summer piece especially for hanging around Venice beach.
