It seemed like it was just the other day in Portland, that the sun was shining and the flowers were starting to bloom. I was really thinking that Spring was well on it’s way until this past week hit. Portland got hit with snow two days in a row and my dreams of warmer days started to diminish. But I had been so inspired by the thought of spring and started to slowly collect pieces for my spring wardrobe! Florals for spring are always a good idea I think, no matter how over done they are. I think wearing darker florals are perfect for winter and transitioning into spring. I paired this top with darker denim to give it a more winter feel but this top could easily be paired with white or lighter denim for Spring too.
Basket bags have been a go to of mine for the past few years and still are! My mom and I were in Tacoma last weekend and she found this while we were thrifting! I think it’s so cute and perfect for upcoming looks! I can’t wait to wear it more 🙂

Two Ways to Style Everlane’s New Kick Crop Jean!

Everlane is launching a new denim style this week and I am so excited to partner with them to show it to you guys a little early! The style is such a great staple for Spring! The rough hem and the slight crop…it’s just so simple and good! The Kick Crop jean can be paired with literally everything. The style would be perfect for sneakers, heels, boots, sandals…pretty much every style of shoe you have in your closet. White denim has definitely been having a moment for the past few years so I couldn’t help but go with the white pair especially with Spring right around the corner. The Kick Crop also comes in Black, Dark denim and a light denim…so many options!

Continuing the white on white trend for Spring, I decided to pair the jeans for the first look with a casual sweater to play off the more feminine heel. This look would also be great with a pair of sneakers depending on what you have planned for your day! The heel makes the denim great for a dinner date or drinks with friends, but paired with a sneaker can give it a more casual and cool vibe.

This outfit is going to be a go-to of mine that I will wear at least once a week! These suede chelsea boots have been on my radar for awhile now and they go so perfectly with the Kick Crop jean too! Plus they match my raincoat…match made in heaven. Since I typically tend to wear more neutral tones, I decided to go with a pop of color to make things a little more interesting. This knit is even better in person, it’s more of an orange red and so fun for Spring! Color is definitely in for Spring and I can even see this look paired with a Lavender or baby blue top instead. So many options!
What outfit do you guys like more? And what color do you think you will end up getting in the Kick Crop from Everlane? I would love to know your thoughts! And make sure to check out my instastory takeover on the Everlane account today!

Ready For Spring

We have been having the most beautiful weather here in Portland the past couple of days. Today was gorgeous and sunny and really felt like Spring was already here. It might be a little bit of wishful thinking on my part….I even ended up getting an iced latte! haha
Transitioning from Winter to Spring as well as Summer to Fall can be kind of tricky. It’s difficult to decide what to wear and what’s weather appropriate. After lots of outfits and trying to figure out the secret to how to dress this time of year…I have learned just to wing it. Wear what you want, when you want. Layer if it’s cold! And that’s just what I decided to do with this look! When I saw this top on Shopbop, I immediately fell in love with it. And despite the fact that it looked like a more Spring appropriate top, I got it anyway and made it work for this time of year. The cutout details and the vintage look, I think it’s a top I will have in my closet for years to come.
Zimmermann is quickly becoming one of my new favorite dream brands and I was so excited to finally have a piece of my own.
Anyways, are you guys all looking forward to more sunshine filled days? Even though I loved binge watching shows, burning too many candles to count, and snuggling up with my pup in our apartment…I can’t wait to get outside again and get inspired again. I’m so ready for Spring!

Here are some of my favorites from Shopbop to get you excited for your Spring Wardrobe!

Gucci Dionysus via StockXbags

I got my first ever designer bag last year and there’s just something very special about them. The soft dust bag, the incredible and impeccable detail that goes into every inch of the bag, there’s a reason why they’re so sought after. Well this Gucci Dionysus Supreme Mini has been on my wish list ever since I first laid my eyes on it. There’s something different and unique about it and still classic. I love that it can be worn with a more put together look or paired with denim, a tee and sneakers. It’s also my first ever Gucci bag, so I might have got a little teary eyed when it arrived! haha
While I do have a serious love with designer pieces, my budget (thanks to student loans) doesn’t always allow me to splurge as often as I would like. And being worried that the bag will never be available again once the season is over always lingers in my head as well.
That’s where StockXbags comes in.

So a little more about StockX…they have a catalog of over 10,000 luxury bags! Something that makes StockX unique, is that you can bid on bags, even if there isn’t someone currently selling the bag. This basically alerts other buyers that people are interested in that specific bag.
The luxury bags available (pre-owned) changes daily and not every bag that was ever made by the brands in the last 20 years are always available, but different bags do become available every day. Instead of searching for a bag on multiple sites, you can go to StockX, place a Bid and wait for the bag to be listed. This usually means that the bag will become eventually become available! Rather than hunting down a particular bag every day, StockX provides an easy way to wait and get your dream bag!
This also means that StockX offers unique and rare bags! The bags they sell are pre-owned, which means they aren’t from a current designer collection. So if there was a bag you were in love with from a couple year ago but didn’t get a chance to snag it…StockX is perfect for just that!
Plus for me, I love that the prices are better than buying the bag brand new. But if you’re just looking for a cheap, used bag that in terrible condition, StockX isn’t the place to look.
I hope that helps you guys a bit on your designer bag journey! I definitely am going to keep an eye on some bags and place bids for the future!

Astoria, Oregon Weekend Getaway Guide!

6L0A1527

It’s finally here! My mini weekend getaway guide to Astoria, OR! We were only there for about a day and a half so I am only sharing the places that we had time to go to. I definitely want to plan another trip back to check out even more of the city and some of the museums that are there!
But for now, here are some of the places that we checked out and loved in Astoria, Oregon!

STAY:

The Norblad Hotel: Ok, the Norblad hotel is without a doubt one of the best hotels I have stayed at! It’s right in Downtown Astoria, which makes it within walking distance to so many places. The lobby was lined with vinyl records (which I really loved!) and the guy at the front desk said we could request to play one at any time. The whole vibe of the hotel was super cozy and welcoming. And the view of downtown Astoria from our room was incredible! I definitely sat in the bright red chair with a cup of coffee just looking at the window.
If you’re looking for another place to stay, right down the street is The Commodore Hotel which is owned by the same owners too!

EAT

St. 14 Cafe: I stopped at this cute little cafe for coffee every morning! It was only a block away from our hotel, so walking there in the morning was so perfect. The first morning we were there, we stayed for breakfast too. It was so nice sitting at the window and looking out at the moody little town. Definitely the perfect place to grab your morning latte, especially since they serve Stumptown!

Fort George Brewery: This was the best shot I got of Fort George but it was one of the places that we spent the most of our time over the weekend. I’m pretty sure we went there three times over the course of two days! The food was just so good, the beer was incredible and the overall atmosphere of the place was infectious.
I discovered my new favorite beer, City of Dreams, while at Fort George too and I even found it in cans at a local grocery. If you ever get a chance to go here, do it! You won’t regret it.

Buoy Brewery: Another great lunch or dinner spot was Buoy Brewery! We stopped there for lunch and a beer and were pleasantly surprised to see sea lions in the waiting area! They have a window in the floor so that you can see live sea lions hang out. It was so cool! Plus the beer and food was pretty dang good as well.

SHOP

Doe & Arrow: This shop is perfect for any boho, vintage loving babe out there! This shop had lots of cute clothing, vinyl, and even a section for guys as well. The shop owner was so nice too! She was offering lavender mimosas to the customers while they shopped, and they were so yummy! I loved her window displays as well. The whole shop was just curated so well and interesting to look at.

Chariot Home: This dreamy little shop felt made me feel like I never left Portland. The ceramics and home decor were so dreamy! I even left with a little planter myself. This shop just really spoke to me and I could just sit and admire the display and every little corner. One of my favorite stops from the entire trip.

These are just a few of the places we checked out while we were in Astoria, Oregon but there are so many that we didn’t get a chance to check out. The antique shops are definitely a must see as well! You never know what you mind end up finding. I’ve heard great things about Coffee Girl for another place to get coffee. The museums in Astoria are another popular place to go. Vintage Hardware was another fun place to check out, they even had a giant Operation game! There are lots of great hikes nearby as well! Or check out the Riverwalk to see more of Astoria. We went to the Megler Bridge while we were leaving too (as seen in the first photo).

Astoria is just short two hour drive from Portland and only about 15 minutes away from the Oregon Coast. This quaint little coastal town is such a hidden gem and perfect for a little getaway. I can’t wait to go back!

Make sure and check out the Travel Astoria site for even more information!
