Spring weather is really finally here in Portland, which means we can finally bring out the sandals, cropped denim, t-shirts, dresses and layer a little less! But that doesn’t mean that we have to tone down on accessories. This bag from HOBO is a great spring and summer bag! The little handle makes it easy to grab when you’re on the go and fits everything you need in it without being too bulky. The inside has a couple of slots that make it easy to take any important cards in case you’re out and about with friends for brunch or date night.
I’ve been drawn to minimal but unique designs and this bag is both of those things! Plus this caramel color is always a weakness of mine.
If you’re looking for a bigger bag that will fit all of your summer things, HOBO has some other great options as well! Since the weather is finally warming up, I like to occasionally go on a walk and work outside at a coffee shop but I have to make sure that everything can fit in a bag!
Here are some of my other favorite larger bag styles from HOBO at Zappos!

White Linen Summer Dress

To me, white dresses are an essential for a spring and summer wardrobe. They can be paired with so many different things like sandals, sneakers, or honestly…even boots! This one is a little more dressier/fancier than the dresses I normally wear. But I still wanted to share this look with you guys especially with so many special occasions that occur during the summer. It’s probably not the best thing to wear to a wedding (unless the bride doesn’t care) but it’s definitely a look that can be worn to a baby shower, brunch, first date, night out, anniversary dinner….you get the point!
I decided to also unbutton a few of the bottom buttons to give this dress a little more movement and I feel like it also makes it slightly more casual. Comfort is always a must for me, so being able to move around without feeling stuck is important.
Still having a moment with bucket bags over here too! I got this one for myself as a gift for my birthday this past march. I’ve talked about this a little bit on my instagram, but I have really been purchasing more investment pieces rather than buying a bunch of lower prices items where the quality usually isn’t as good. This bag was one of those for me!
With that being said, I still do shop occasionally at a few fast fashion shops. I am not perfect whatsoever! But I do try to be more aware of my spending habits and try and be as reasonable and conscious as possible. Thrift and vintage finds are still (and will always be) my favorite.
One last thing. I know investment pieces can be tough! Spending that much money on one thing can be really scary. But I think of it as quality over quantity (which is tricky sometimes as a fashion blogger too). I’ve realized though, I end up wearing those investment pieces so much more because I truly love them! And I want to get as much wear out of them as possible to justify the purchase! haha There are also ways to find these nicer pieces at a discounted price though. I am always drooling over By Far and their shoes. The styles are so unique but they are quite a bit out of my price range. I ended up doing a lot of digging around and found these on Depop in my size for only $90! So it can definitely happen! Just keep looking! <3
What I am wearing: Dress: Raven + Lily, Bag: Staud (or Shop Staud here), Scarf: Vintage Courreges via Etsy (only $30!) Shop Scarves here, Shoes: By Far (found on Depop for $90!) Shop Mules Here, Necklace: Wolf Circus

Grabbing Coffee in Lou & Grey

IMG_9883 IMG_9885 IMG_9940 IMG_9942 IMG_9949

Are you guys familiar with Lou & Grey yet?? If not, after reading this post, I hope you are! They’ve been a brand I’ve been a fan of since collaborating with them a couple years back when I was living in Las Vegas. Flash forward to now living in Portland, and I am loving Lou & Grey more than ever! I recently got a pair of their sweatpants and it was a complete game changer for me. They’re honestly the softest sweats I’ve ever owned. Since I work form home, comfort is really important to me and they’ve been a staple for me the past few months.
Even though they do make casual pieces, they also have some great pieces that can be dressed up for on the go. These linen pants and tee are a part of their new garment dye collection and they’re so nice and breathable! They would be perfect for traveling, or grabbing a cup of coffee like I did here. I decided to dress them up a bit with a wedge sandal just to elevate the look a little more. Pairing casual and girly pieces together is always one of my favorite ways to style.
Make sure and check out their new garment dye collection, there are some really great pieces for summer! One of my favorites is the Tie Up Blouse, I loveee the yellow! There’s just something so fun about wearing yellow this time of year.

On the Beach

Does anyone else have the Neil Young song stuck in their head now? I hope at least one of you does because I am naming this post after that song. When I first started blogging, I would always try and come up with catchy titles for my blog posts usually after songs. So I decided, why the hell not do it again, seems better than my usual “white puffy blouse and denim” title that I will probably go back to after this.
These photos are some of my favorites yet. Despite the fact it was a really rainy, overcast, gross typical Oregon spring day. Covering my hair under my coat to make sure we could at least capture a few shots was so worth it. It was fun to run around barefoot on the beach in the rain. It felt a little risky because I still had more outfits I wanted to shoot and freeing to run, spin and let my hair go a bit. Definitely a little different than some of my outfit posts lately.
Also, I know I do wear variations of this outfit a lot…but there’s a reason for it. If I had to live in an outfit the rest of my life, it would most likely be a vintage inspired white or lace top, vintage 501 levis, a wicker bag and my Mari Giudicelli mules. I just feel most like me when I am in this outfit.

P.S. Check out the sandals I am loving right now! Comfy and under $100!

Mornings are my time. After I take out my dog, I can finally focus on making coffee and having a moment to myself. I take time to make my coffee the way I like and it’s really just a time for me to slow down for a bit before I conquer a busy day. It’s fun to really go all out and make the morning for myself by putting on a cozy outfit and a few special pieces like these diamond rings from JTV. I love that they still go perfectly with my everyday looks while still adding a bit of fun to my outfit. I’m not usually one to wear diamonds but this ring is so beautiful and match my favorite and go to color palette so well!
If I am really feeling like adding a fun pop, I love wearing this green emerald as well! Green is actually my favorite color and I love being able to express that in simple ways through my style.
I really recommend you trying this out one of these mornings! Take a moment to yourself. Sip on your coffee in some of your nicest jewelry and just relish in the moment. It will be a nice way to do something for yourself. Make sure to use code “JTVFREE” to get free shipping on your oder as well!
