Last week, we had the strangest (but really beautiful) fall weather I have seen in Portland! Usually, by this far into October, it’s pretty rainy and cold. But instead, it has been in the 70s! Very beautiful but not very “fall” like. I had already put away most of my summer pieces at this point so I wanted to figure out ways that I could still dress a little bit fall but not sweat like crazy. haha This look is the perfect combination of end of summer, early fall. That weird time when you don’t really know what to wear because the weather can’t get it together! I think pairing either airy shoes, like these strappy sandals, with sweaters helps or skirts with sweaters. It’s all about balance.

Did you noticed seeing strappy sandals everywhere this summer and end of fall? I love all of the 90s and 2000s influence because it reminds of when I was younger. I wanted to try out this trend for myself but I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not. I’m not one to usually wear heels or anything so I decided to check out a thrift store first. I found this vintage pair while in Reno for $3! And I think they look really great with wide leg pants like seen here. I imagine they would look really great with a maxi dress too. Pieces that can be worn in multiple seasons is always my favorite, I love having versatility in my closet!

Cardigans are always a great fall staple and I really love wearing them all the way buttoned up. It makes them look like a sweater with a cute detail and I also think it looks a bit French as well!

I don’t think I talk Portland up enough nearly as much as I should. I LOVE this city. Despite the awful “rainy season” that makes me want to pack my bags and move to California, I really do love this city so much. There are countless reasons why, but one of the main reasons is that I am constantly inspired by places in the city and that there are SO many great coffee shops literally on every street. I thought I would share another Portland coffee shop that you need to visit if you’re planning on coming here or if you live here! Never Coffee is located in SE Portland on Belmont and it’s one of my favorites. I don’t go there too often since I feel like it’s more of a place to really just sit down and enjoy your time, but it’s always a gem when I stop by. What’s your favorite Portland coffee shop to visit?

I also wanted to share Almina Concept with you all! In case you’re looking for a new brand to love, they’re one I am loving especially for fall! This lightweight knit has been great for the warmer fall weather we’ve been having lately. The texture is so soft and perfect for layering or pairing with denim like I did here. I’m also still not ready to let go of white pants due to fall and winter….so I am just going to wear them all year round!

Also, I want to thank those of you who entered the giveaway on my previous post! I am really excited about switching over to WordPress! It’s supposed to be a lot better for the blogger and it’s something I have been wanting to do for awhile now. Anyways, time to announce the two winners of the planters!

Congrats:

@ashandsun and @jenniestoy! You both are the winners!

Let me know what you all think of blog giveaways and if it’s something I should do more often?

5 Teddy Coats to Try This Season!

Teddy coats are back…back again! I am all here for it! To be honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan when they came back last year but when I finally found a big oversized one at H&M, I was instantly hooked! I have been wearing mine around the house for the past few days and it’s great for stomping around the leaves in when I have to take my dog Blu out for a walk. Then when I was browsing on Amazon one day (I swear Amazon is the online Target lol) I saw this Teddy Sherpa jacket from Levi’s and I knew I had to get it! If you didn’t already know, I am a HUGE fan of Levi’s. Pretty much all of the jeans I have are vintage Levi’s or a couple of the new wedgie fit… I love them. My dad actually had a Levi’s denim jacket with the sherpa on the inside and it inspired me a bit to get this jacket as well.

I thought I would share some of my favorite teddy coats from this season in case you’re still on the fence about it or if you love them too and are ready to get one yourself!

Here are Five Teddy Coats to try this Season!

  1. Levi’s All Over Sherpa Trucker Jacket (as seen on me in the images above!)
  2. UO Cropped Teddy Coat (I have this one from last year and I love it!)
  3. Weekday Borg Teddy Coat
  4. Faux Sherling Teddy Coat
  5. Warehouse Double Breasted Teddy Coat

Let me know what you think of the teddy coat trend? Are you on board or not feeling this one? How would you style yours? Let me know in the comments!
Also, I am so excited to announce my blog is now on WordPress! This is a switch I have been wanting to do but I kept putting it off. SO happy about this! Anyways, happy Wednesday!

Two Ways to Style Blundstone’s New Chelsea Boot!

Rain Coat Outfit

Boot season is here and I couldn’t be more happy about it. Now that Fall is here, it means that rain is soon coming to Portland again. I get a lot of questions about how to style and wear looks that are weather appropriate for Portland. Starting with a good sturdy boot is essential. Blundstone recently came out with a heeled version of their classic boot and it’s going to be so perfect for the fall and winter weather. The heel gives it more of a fashionable look too which I love! Perfect to wear with wide legs jeans like above, a dress like below or denim and a sweater.
Apart from being a cute boots for fall, I also really love that these boots are sturdy and easy to slip on and off! They’re great for when I need to run out the door or take Blu out for a walk.

I love when a boot is versatile and can be styled a variety of ways. Pairing these heeled Blundstone boots with a maxi dress is a great way to dress them up a bit for fall as well. I’m curious of what you would style your Blundstone boots with?

This post was in collaboration with Blundstone but all ideas and comments are my own!

Summer in Autumn

It’s technically fall, but it really hasn’t felt like it in Portland besides some of the trees changing colors, the pumpkin flavored everything EVERYWHERE, and a few leaves on the ground. I am not complaining at all, because one of my favorite things about Portland has been the indian summers here. It’s honestly probably my favorite time of the year. The mornings are cold and brisk but then it starts to slowly warm up through out the day. I swear the sky is extra blue this time of year too and the city has the most beautiful light pastel sunsets.
This also means I can still hang on to my maxi dresses and basket bags just a little bit longer. This dress would be the perfect piece for all year round. I feel like I say that a lot, but I love having pieces that I can style multiple ways throughout the year. Pair it with booties or knee highs and a long coat for the colder months and then pair it with sandals or a block heel when it warms up. Or in between, a good clog like I wore here is great as well.
If you follow me on instagram, you probably know we just moved into a new apartment this past weekend! We’re still in Portland of course but found a bigger space (I finally have an office!!) and it’s closer to so many great shops and restaurants within walking distance! I am currently typing this from a coffee shop since we still don’t have wifi until tomorrow…the joys of moving! But it’s all been worth it!
