I am so excited to share this blog post with you for a number of reasons! First off, Acne Studios is now available to shop at Farfetch! Have you checked out Farfetch yet? It’s a website that has a ton of incredible brands you can shop in one place. I love being able to shop on places like that because I can easily look at multiple options, pair them together and then ship them all together! Sometimes it’s a lot easier to shop on these sites as well because the shipping costs are cheaper. But anyways, make sure to check out their site! Especially if you’re an Acne Studios fan as well.

Second, I am ecstatic to share these photos with you all! Don’t they look like they’re straight out of a dream or fairy tale?! I know it’s a lot more photos than I usually post but it was hard for me to edit down to just a few. SO HERE IS A BUNCH! haha These photos were shot by Emma Jane Kepley, a photographer I have been following on Instagram for years now and been admiring her work for just as long. She just recently moved to Portland so we finally were able to take some photos and she DID NOT disappoint. I love being able to get out of my comfort zone and trust the photographers vision. It usually turns into a work of art. And these photos are just that!

I hope you all enjoy! Also, I just want to say, I know I talk a lot about investment pieces as I think they’re so important! Getting a piece from one of your favorite designers from that season is such a great way to treat yourself. I know that budgets don’t always allow for that, but pairing designer with vintage and thrifted pieces are perfect! These trousers/suit set is a vintage set I got while thrifting in Reno. Anyways, just want to encourage the balance of pairing high and low pieces together! <3

And make sure to check out Emma Jane Kepley’s work!! @emmajanekepley

6 Brands on my Current Spring Wishlist

springpicks

The more I think about it, the more I am realizing how much I love Spring styles. Pastels and neutral colors start to break out of the darker winter shades. Finally, I can pair my denim with dainty blouses without the layer of a coat and hopefully start to wear dresses again!

There are so many brands that have caught my eye for upcoming Spring styles so I thought I would share a few with you! I do love neutral tones but I am loving all of the colors that are showing this spring! Lots of bright and vibrant colors that I think will be so fun to wear.

(Starting from the top left corner and going clockwise)

  1. SEA – One of my favorite brands since I first discovered them in a Steven Alan in Portland a couple years ago. I always love the interesting silhouettes and fabrics they use. This top is such a fun color and I have been seeing so much green everywhere, which makes me so happy because it’s my favorite color!
  2. Clare V. – They never cease to amaze me with their bags every spring. They’re a little different than your typical basket and woven bags which is why I love them so much. This style has such a vintage vibe to it as well and would be the perfect accessory to those floral and patterned dresses.
  3.  FAITHFULL THE BRAND – This has been a go to brand of mine for Spring and Summer styles for a couple of years now. They’re collections are always so beautiful and make me want to travel somewhere warm.
  4. Tibi – How cute are these sandals?! They’re at the very top of my wishlist and I think they would pair so cute with the pale yellow jeans also feature on this list. A good pair of sandals are always a must for me when the warmer weather hits!
  5. Apiece Apart – This. Dress. Is. So. Good. I love the print, the colors, the smocking. All together the makings of a dreamy spring dress. Paired with sandals or sneakers, such a great easy outfit.
  6. Khaite – I hadn’t heard of this brand before but these jeans really caught my eye! The color is such a great twist from the usual white denim that is popular for spring, but it’s subtle enough that it would be great with tees and lace blouses.

Well there you have it, 6 brands that are on my Spring wishlist! What one is your favorite? And what brands do you have your eye on for Spring? Let me know!!

It’s that time of the year for me that can be hard to figure out what the hell to wear! I have been focusing more on my fitness and health lately so I feel like my current outfits consist of a lot of leggings, sports bras and oversized tees. When I finally muster up some effort to put on an actual outfit, comfort has been my main focus. Pairing sneakers with any look this time of year is an easy way to stay comfortable while also making it look like you put some effort into your outfit. I will always be drawn to more tomboy looks, as I was a huge tomboy growing up, so wearing trousers and a tee has been a bit of an homage to younger me. These trousers are actually vintage Levi’s and an item that will be for sale in my upcoming vintage store relaunch!
In case you didn’t know, I used to sell vintage a few years back. Then when I enrolled in college, I had to put it on pause. Well I am finally at a place that I want to start it up again and I couldn’t ben more excited about it. Thank you so much to those of you who have shown so much interest already! It means so much to me! Stay tuned for more details and official the official launch date 🙂

A Great Wine for the New Year

It’s that time of year, the holidays! The best time to spend with family and to celebrate. If you’re looking for a great wine to bring along with you this holiday season, I would check out Yealands! Yealands is a New Zealand based wine company and are one of the only wine companies in the world to be certified as carbon neutral. Essentially, carbon neutrality refers to anything that achieves net zero carbon emissions. That’s pretty incredible! Who knew drinking wine could be even better!

I took this bottle of Yealands Sauvignon Blanc to a little staycation in Portland and it was great! If you’re planning on a staycation this holiday season or are celebrating the new year, this is the perfect bottle to bring!

The bottles range around $20 which is great for a bottle of wine! Head over to their website to learn more about Yealands and to purchase a bottle for yourself or someone special for the holidays!

Five Boots that are Worth the Investment

32060025

I’m so excited to finally share this post with you all. Boots are definitely a staple for me during the cooler months and even parts of spring. I think it’s important to have a couple of options that work for you and your personal style. So I thought I would share my favorites from this season with you all. Ones that I bought myself (unless otherwise noted). Boots can be pretty pricey but for me, it’s one thing I can justify spending a little more on because I wear them so much.

Here they are, FIVE BOOTS THAT ARE WORTH THE INVESTMENT:

32060013

32060016

BY FAR – Jeanne Boots

Basically any of the boots from BY FAR are worth the investment for me. They are very pricey which is why I waited until their black friday sale to finally snag a pair. But the quality of their shoes in general is just really great. They’re going to last many years. Also, I’ve seen their shoes on sites such as Garmentory and The Realreal on sale, so keep an eye out!

Loeffler Randall – Cooper Bootie

The perfect white boot! This is my first pair of white boots (I’m pretty sure…) and I don’t know why I didn’t get them before! I know white boots can be kind of scary since they show wear and stains way more but this material is very easy to wipe off. I love the shape of these boots and the unique texture. Although, they aren’t the most comfortable boots at first….they definitely need to be worn in a bit. But they’re currently ON SALE TOO! (these boots were gifted from shopbop but I love them!)

32050019

freepeopleboots

FREE PEOPLE – Cecile Ankle Boot

My number one. My go to. These bad boys have lasted over 3 years and still look beautiful. I love the simple design and french feel of them. They pair perfectly with denim, dresses, skirts, you name it. These are more affordable compared to the others and SO worth every penny. I couldn’t hype or suggest these boots any more. They really are a favorite of mine.

32050006

32050010

Flattered – Mika Boots

These are my newest pair and I am constantly drooling over the color. This rich camel color is one of my favorites this time of year. And I love that it matches one of my bags so well! These are another great go to boot to pair with camel coats, denim, blazers, sweaters…pretty much anything you can think of this time of year. The best thing is, since we’re slowly heading into spring styles…these boots are on sale too!

(This pair was gifted to me from Flattered)

32040011

Paloma Wool – Emelia Boot

This pair, I’ve probably worn the most this season. I’m not going to lie, getting them was a big pain in the a** but it was worth it. When I first ordered them, they didn’t fit. And wanted to exchange them for a larger size but they don’t offer free returns and I couldn’t justify the $80 shipping back to Spain. I did end up selling the small pair online and reordered the proper size and it was all worth the trouble. The color is so fun and a great contrast during these dull winter months. Plus the wooden heel is so unique and feels like I am wearing a piece of art. If you’re thinking about getting a pair…make sure to SIZE UP if you’re between sizes. OR buy them from sites like Garmentory or Lisa Says Gah where you won’t have as many issues with shipping hopefully!

I hope you all liked this post! And I really hope it was helpful or at least inspiring. All of these images were shot on film by Chantel Marie, cool right?! She also sells film cameras in case you’re interested! Just click the link in her bio.

I think I’m going to dive into film more this year. It’s always so fun to see how the images will turn out and it’s always so beautiful to see.

Here are a couple of other honorable mentions or boots that are similar but a wider price range ! Let me know what one is your favorite and hope you all had a great new year!
