SWEATER WEATHER IS BACK

The cooler weather is starting to hit in Portland so I thought I would share this simple sweater weather look! This look is great for transitioning from Summer to Fall too. Those white jeans you loved over the summer can easily be worn with all of the sweaters and knits for fall. The neutral color palette is always so easy to mix and match and worn through out any season.

I got these boots last season, it was a huge pain to get them in the correct size actually, but when I did I fell instantly in love with them! They’re just a great pop of color and the wooden heel makes them so unique. Plus they go with so many different looks so fall as well as jeans, dresses, skirts…pretty much anything.

Fall Coat Styled Two Ways

Currently typing this as it’s gloomy outside and officially feeling more like fall in Portland. When I took these photos though, it was definitely not feeling like fall lol But there’s just nothing like a good fall coat to get you inspired for cooler weather! Fall style is always one I look forward to every year.

Oak + Fort sent me this coat from their current collection and it might be a fall staple for me this season. It can be styled so many different ways and I actually love wearing white and cream during fall and winter as well. No rules here! The shape is so unique and can be synched to really accentuate the waist as well. I love the looser fit but I could see it synched and worn more as a statement piece. As much as I think there are so many cute heels out there, I am all about sneakers. I wanted to show two different ways to wear this coat just by simply changing your shoes and/or bag. Outfits made easy!

I would love to know which look you like better?

Where all of my Artwork & Prints Are From!

One of the most commonly asked questions I’ve gotten lately is where I buy/get my prints from! Since moving into this apartment, I’ve really thought more about decorating and getting art pieces to hang up because it really does transform a place and is another great way to express yourself through your home. I figured it was time to finally share where I have gotten all of my prints from! Alright, let’s jump right into it!

Living Room/Media Room: This first print was gifted to me through a collaboration with Desenio. Even though it was a gifted item, I would without a doubt buy prints from them in the future! The entire ordering process was so easy, the prints arrived in a great box that made sure there were no damages to the prints and also the best part about it all was that they also sell frames online as well! So many sites that sell prints and art don’t have frames which is such a big pain when you just want to hurry and hang up your piece. So honestly, I can’t recommend Desenio enough!

This piece is also from Desenio. Of course I love hanging up artwork but I also love incorporating it in other ways such as resting it against a wall or adding it to a corner. I love how it goes with this vase and pampas grass!

Office Corner: I’ve shared my mini gallery wall before in a previous post here, so make sure to check that out with a full list and links (including frames!) This was all done on a budget too so most pieces are pretty affordable as well! I think sometimes, buying prints can get intimidating because they can seem like it will be really expensive. But there are so many affordable places online to get prints and artwork!

Desk in Office: These two pieces might be my favorites! I hate choosing favorites but they’re both just so unique and I love how well they surprisingly pair together.

The larger floral piece I bought on Etsy and is in original Matisse lithograph!! So of course, this piece is my most prized one of all of them. I actually had purchased a different one from a seller but she messaged me that she couldn’t find it. So instead she offered me this one instead, which was larger than the one I bought so I ended up getting a better piece for less! I bought a custom frame for this piece as well because honestly it deserved it!!

The smaller print is one I bought on Society 6 and is by the artist Amber Vittoria. Her work is so unique and oddly beautiful, I was instantly drawn to this print!

Amber Vittoria – Society 6 (I think this particular one is sold out)

The last piece is one I got gifted from another favorite site of mine, Spacey Studios. If you haven’t checked out Spacey Studios, pause from reading this and check them out real quick! They have THE best prints and artists and are more affordable as well! This particular print is by artist Augusto B.M. and he also did a collaboration with OhSevenDays, a favorite clothing brand of mine, and I am wearing one of the pieces in the photo above! Love supporting small artists and brands too!

That’s all of them! Let me know which one was your favorite! Do you have a particular place you like to buy art or prints for your place? Let me know, I always love finding new sites and shops!

7 Midi Skirts That are Great for End of Summer!

Let’s just take a moment to truly appreciate that midi and maxi skirts are back. I am fully on board this trend! They’re so easy to throw on , another piece that can be styled countless ways and morph so easily to any kind of personal style you want to express. While I do like pairing them with sneakers for extra comfort, there are times when I like to dress them up a bit like I did here. Luckily these shoes are actually pretty comfortable so I was able to wear them without complaining after 20 minutes lol

It might come as a surprise to you when I say that I actually don’t like shopping very much. I prefer online shopping and if I do go out to actually shop, it’s usually at a thrift store. But right before I was heading to San Francisco, I was looking for a couple of pieces for the trip so I decided to browse through Nordstrom. I AM SO GLAD I DID BECAUSE I FOUND THIS SKIRT! Midi skirts are everywhereee right now but I hadn’t seen one like this before. The print is line figure drawings, which is also SO trendy, but I can’t help but love it. Since the colors are pretty neutral as well, the skirt goes so easily with black or white tops too. I wanted to pair it with a black top and accessories to really make the print pop.

Summer to Fall Look

As much as I’m sure we all want summer to stick around forever, it’s time to face the music…fall is just around the corner! I’m sure so many of you are excited about fall too though! One of the toughest things about summer coming to an end is trying to figure out wtf to wear. It’s starting to cool down but still a little too warm for serious layers or boots. So I thought this outfit would be a good example of a transitional look for summer to fall.

Blazers are a STAPLE. A MUST HAVE. A GO TO for fall for me! They’re so easy to find at a vintage shop or thrift store. And so many brands make beautiful ones as well that are perfectly tailored and the best kind of oversized fit (like this one I am wearing!) But blazers are such a good transitional piece for summer to fall. You can pair them with dresses, skirts, sandals, tanks…all of your summer pieces but the blazer eases you into fall.

Another alternative, especially if you commute for your work, is paring this look with sneakers like I did in the bottom images. I know these shoes are a bit of a statement, which is partially why I love them so much…Acne Studios can do no wrong!! But if these sneakers are too intimidating, a good classic pair of Adidas or Nike’s would be great with this look as well. It’s really all up to you! That’s what we all love about fashion and style right? 😉

Side note: AUrate has some reallyyy cute jewelry if you’re looking for a new jewelry brand to crush on. They sent this twisted ring and it’s just a great simple layering piece!
