I hope you’re all staying safe out there. The world around us has changed so much since the last time I posted on here and took these photos. These were a set my dad took of me when we visited Los Angeles just two weeks ago. Things have turned upside down and our normal everyday lives have changed like none of us have ever seen before. I hope you’ve all been practicing social distancing and staying home if you’re able to. Before all of this, I originally had planned on visiting my dad down in Arizona for two weeks but since everything with COVID-19 happening, I am still here waiting to return back to Portland. It’s been difficult to decide to return home because I was worried everything would be closing on my drive back home, including hotels. I didn’t want to get stranded so my stay here has been prolonged.
I’m sure at this point, you’ve read, heard and talked about the virus more than you could imagine. It’s been on all of our minds I’m sure. So I hope this blog post can provide just a couple minutes of normalcy and take your mind off of everything for just a bit.
When I first saw this set on the & Other Stories, it reminded me to much of the 90s/2000s. Baggy, flared pants with a more fitted tie back top. It reminded me so much of some of the pieces back then and I couldn’t wait to style it myself. This outfit was perfect for the early spring LA weather. Cool and breezy fabric but the long sleeves and pant still kept me warm enough in the shade. Plus styled with sandals or flip flops, this outfit is SO comfortable. I wanted to dress it up a bit and escalate the look so I paired it with my Staud Moon bag and Gucci sunglasses! But you could easily dress the look down more or up depending on the occasion.
The best part about two piece sets like this, they’re perfect for wearing at home too!
