I started The Moptop in 2011 based on mostly thrifted and vintage pieces. I was still in high school and didn’t have much of a budget for clothing so I really relied on finding cool pieces at local thrift shops and vintage stores where I lived. My love for the “thrill of the thrift find” still is very much there but I still find myself loving designer and modern pieces as well. That’s why I love outfits where I can combine both vintage (thrifted too!) and designer pieces together. This might be something that some bloggers find as a taboo but I think most people prefer to dress this way!
Can you guess how much I got this beautiful vintage coat for? Five bucks. Yep. I couldn’t believe it either. Especially since it looks similar to so many modern pieces for sale in stores right now. Pairing a vintage piece with a designer bag or shoe instantly makes the outfit more elevated I think. You wouldn’t be able to tell this coat was from a thrift store unless I told you right?
I thought I would share this simple trick with you all! I’m trying to find more time to go vintage shopping and I have finally been getting back into it more. I recently found an incredible rattan rocking chair for eight dollars and my butt hasn’t left it since I got it! haha Did you see it on my instastories? I would love to know what your favorite vintage finds have been lately! Let me know in the comments!
